The FR7 unit is a high quality 6.5 cm (2.5″) full-range 4 ohm speaker from Visaton, with minimal mounting depth and small magnet. Balanced frequency response and high efficiency. Very good high range response.

The sound quality from this speaker is excellent and is ideal for many audio applications. They are especially suitable in machines and other equipment where space is at a premium.

    You could use them but they would potentially get damaged and would definitely limit the quality and volume of the audio .

    Answered by the admin Hello Callum, The product you have posted the question on is just the speaker itself and not an amplifier kit, we do sell a kit that uses this speaker 2158-3w-class-d-stereo-amplifier, this contains all the parts for the amplifier including two speakers.

    Answered by the admin These are the speakers that are supplied with the 3W class D amp kit, so yes they are fine to use with it.

    Answered by the admin The amplifier chip used in the high powered amp kit is not specified to drive a 4 Ohm load, as such you may have issues with using these speakers. We would suggest using an 8 Ohm speaker as this is what the amplifier chip is designed to drive.

    Answered by the admin It depends on the amplifier in your car.What matters is that the amplifier can support the impedence of the speakers (4 Ohm). If it can't it may damage the amplifier or speaker.

    Answered by the admin It would very likely damage the speakers, is the amplifier 10W at 8 Ohm or 4 Ohm? We do however sell 20W 8 Ohm rated speakers that would work well.
