How do you wire up a three legged LED?

The centre lead of the LED is the common connection and should be taken to 0V. You then connect either or both of the other leads to 2.2V to give you red, green or orange. If you are using 5V or a different supply voltage you will need to add a current limit resistor. If you are only doing red or green at a time and not putting both on to get orange, then you can put the resistor between the common centre lead and 0V. If you want to turn both the red and green elements on at the same time then you should put a resistor in each lead. To work out the resistor use the calculator to the left of this comment.
