These Frosted Clear 0.73mm Polypropylene Sheets are suitable for a wide range of D&T applications. These sheets let light through but have a frosted finish, which is good for diffusing light. One surface of the sheet has a fine sand finish and the other has an orange emboss (anti-glare) finish.

The 0.73mm gauge makes the sheets flexible and therefore ideal for products requiring a curved finish. They are also static treated to minimise dust attraction.

Polypropylene sheets are often used to make products such as office stationery, folders, files, covers, signs, lamps, lightings, jewellery, fashion accessories, etc.

Working with Polypropylene:

These Polypropylene sheets can be cut safely on a laser cutter (please note the edges will be slightly ‘burred’ and do not appear ‘polished’ like Perspex) and unlike PVC they do not create any chlorine gas. The sheets can also be cut using a sharp knife. You can crease the material using a cold or hot creasing technique. The resulting ‘hinges’ can be folded many times without the material breaking.

Answered by the admin Hi Adam,

Thank you for your question, I do not believe these sheets are UV stable one of my colleagues has previously used them externally and they flaked and cracked within a year so I would not recommend them for external use.

Answered by the admin Hi Pat, It should be possible to use this product for a lamp shade, it is very flexible and once rolled and glued/fastened into place it should work great. Unfortunately we don't have the facility to cut the material to size and we buy this pre-cut.

Answered by the admin Hello Vicente, This isn't something we are aware of, it is possible to print onto the material but not sure about painting. It may well be possible to paint onto the surface, however it may scratch off rather than form a permanent bond with the material.

Answered by the admin Yes it’s fine to glue pictures to the sheets, if you are wanting to use the sheet as a backing for a collage or something similar then a normal glue stick works well.
