Answered by the admin The starting current for this motor will be over 1 Amp. For a project involving a weak power source we would recommend the low inertia motor http://www.kitronik.co.uk/products/motors-and-motor-accessories/motors-gearbox-and-mounting-clips/low-inertia-solar-motor/ . With no load attached it has a maximum current draw of approximately 25mA.
