The PICAXE Programming Editor software downloads programs into the PICAXE chip via a very low cost USB download cable. No programmer is required – you simply place the matching ‘stereo’ socket on the project board and then download the program directly into the PICAXE chip.

    Answered by the admin Hi Darren, Unfortunately you are not able to use a normal USB cable as The download cable has some complex circuity behind the USB connector which converts the signal to a form the PICAXE chip can understand.
